ASN Club Fit Charity Challenge & The Benefits of Exercise

Howdy everyone! I'm hopping on the blog to tell everyone about a really awesome event that's coming up in Surrey:

The Autism Support Network 2026 Club Fit Charity Challenge!


About the Event

The Autism Support Network (ASN) is a non-profit founded by two people: my mom Dione, and her friend Nancy. Together, they help to support autistic people like me in their journeys through life! šŸ˜€ The ASN Club Fit Charity ChallengeĀ is a 1/5K walk/run event at Hawthorne Park in Surrey. It’s a yearly special event put on by the ASN to raise funds, bring the community together, and educate families about the benefits of exercise.

This year, I’m the ASN Team Captain! As Team Captain, I lead my group along the trail of the run. It’s my job to make sure everyone is with the group, that everyone is well hydrated (I’m probably going to be having some stern words with anybody in my group if they aren’t hydrated)! At the end, we get to take it easy for a little bit before prizes are handed out. Everyone gets a medal and a t-shirt, and who knows what bonus prizes there could be this year! :0


Benefits of Exercise

Staying active has many benefits, which is one of the things we teach people at the Club Fit Charity Challenge.Ā To prepare for my role as Team Captain, I did a little research. Expand this list to read more!

Did you know that exercise can help you control your weight gain? When take part in physical activity, you BURN off calories as you exercise.

Exercise combats health conditions / diseases

Exercise can help combat many health conditions / diseases like Stroke, High Blood Pressure, Type 2 Diabetes, Many types of cancer & more.Ā Ā 

Exercise improves mood

Exercise can improve your mood after a llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllong day if you’ve had one of those days (I have many times and it sucks.).Ā 

Exercise boosts energy

Exercise sends oxygen & nutrients to your tissues, and helps your cardiovascular system work more effectively, which gives you more energy!

Exercise promotes better sleep

Exercise can help you sleep better — especially when you try something that really tires you out.

Exercise can be fun & social!

Exercise can be both fun & social. They give you a chance to unwind and bond with others. So take a dance class, hit the hiking trails with some buddies, or join a soccer team.
