HELLOOOOOOOO FOLKS! Another month, another blog! :D
Who doesn’t love some good ol’ junk food? But you do need that healthy food every day to remain healthy, after all — so here are my top 5 DIY healthy treats that hit the cravings, without that sugar crash later on.
Enjoy the show folks! :D
#5: Angel Food Cupcakes

Healthy ingredients:
Yellow squash puree
Carrot puree
These were pretty good for having yellow squash puree in them. I could tell they had veggies in them, but they were still pretty tasty! I would choose these cupcakes over real angel food cake because they’re healthier (but if I was choosing which one was yummier, I’d probably have to go with the real angel food cake).
#4: Carrot Cake Muffins

Healthy ingredients:
Carrot puree
Cauliflower puree
Low fat cream cheese
Orange juice
Who doesn’t love carrot cake? :0 I was a fan of these muffins. As for why I like em? They tasted like carrot cake! The muffins have 2 different kinds of veggies, plus low fat cream cheese & some OJ in the frosting. That’s all I’m gonna say.
#3: Carrot Orange Pops
* No recipe link for this one, as it’s a 2 ingredient, mix-and-freeze treat!

Healthy ingredients:
Orange juice
Carrot puree
These are a nice chilly treat during the summer months for kids and adults alike. The carrot puree already makes it healthy, since it gives you a good ol’ serving of veggies (whether you want it or not :D). PLUS, between the carrots and the OJ, these pops are chock full of vitamin C!
#2: Sodaroni Slushy

Healthy ingredients:
Raspberries
Cranberry juice
Honey
WE’LLLLLLL PIN YA WITH THIS TASTY TREAT FROM THE PIZZAPLEX! The Sodaroni Slushy! (Disclaimer: This does not taste like pepperoni and don’t add pepperoni to the mixture. You might ruin it if you do that.)
Ah yes, le old raspberries: a juice-making staple. Plus, this recipe has REAL fruit, and raspberries & cranberries are full of anti-oxidants. Also, this recipe is sweetened with honey instead of sugar or corn syrup, which would have you bouncing off the walls by the end of the day.
Would recommend 10/10. Take care not to spill it!
#1: Gingerbread Spice Cake

Healthy ingredients:
Broccoli puree
Carrot puree
Whole wheat flour
Nonfat plain yogurt
I could smash through a brick wall after eating a piece of this (DO NOT DO THIS AS I DON’T WANT TO GET SUED FOR SOMEONE BREAKING THEIR NOSE ON A WALL).
I liked the spiciness and the gingery-ness of this cake! As for the healthy ingredients, we have 2 different kinds of veggies, just like in the carrot cake cupcakes. The recipe calls for whole wheat flour instead of white flour, along with nonfat plain yogurt to keep it moist. Who wouldn’t love to take a bite out of Gingerbread Spice Cake?
What are your favourite healthy treats? Sound off in the comments!

Thanks for the tip about not adding Pepperoni to the Sodaroni Slushy!!
The carrot cake muffins should be higher on this list... They were AMAZING 🤩
This is such a helpful blog post! Thanks Chris, can’t wait to try the Ginger bread spice cake and the carrot cake muffins. I must say, they look SCRUMPTIOUS
